Chilltown Blues

Is Chilltown as more than modern NYC-lite anchored in its poorest wards?

And if not, what is?

There are too many things to write about blues-wise, so before I get into anything, let’s just take a moment to acknowledge that puppies were born somewhere today. And they’re probably adorable. And it’s a week or two off before fireworks send them scattering under tables.

In ole Chilltown, meanwhile, November sees the election of a new mayor and the election for its city councilmembers — along with the gubernatorial race.

Who?

On the south side of the city (in and around Ward F), there have been two longtime residents I’ve recently talked to who aren’t sure who their councilperson is — though they’re well-versed in the mayoral line. This is due in part to them not seeing their councilperson out and about in their areas, and that’s a sentiment worth exploring.
