There’s a probable link between high population density and unhappiness, according to a 2018 paper based on Canadian survey data cross-referenced from a team of researchers at the Vancouver School of Economics and McGill University. Data from the 2020 “World Happiness Report” indicated a key outlier to this dynamic is in how much money people in a highly-dense city are making.
